2009 will be a ‘year of strengthening the economic base of Gangwon-do’
While focusing on creating jobs and promoting the local economy through business and tourism investments, by pursuing ‘Total Sales Gangwon’, we will visualize all policies and projects, and focus all of our energies in creating results.

The strategies for this are as follows

1. Place greatest priority of the province in promoting businesses and the popular economy
2. Focus on developing high technologies, as well as bio and health industries such as new and renewable energy
3. Designate this year as ‘Year of Revitalizing Gangwon Tourism’ in order to develop and increase revenue from tourism in Gangwon
4. Increase income for farming and fishing families through distinguished development of farming and fishing towns
5. Distinguish ‘welfare?environment?culture’ by strengthening customized policies
6. Create logistics and transportation system for Northeast Asia and make it accessible within 2 hours
7. Create and visualize unique development strategies for each region and begin and complete major large-scale projects

We are also pursuing other major key strategies for nationalization and globalization of Gangwon-do.
